Melanie's Bridal Shower, A Visit to Brookwood, & April Fools Day

My sweet cousin Melanie is getting married this June and we got to shower her with lots of love and gifts this weekend!! It was also Taylor's first wedding shower, when I told here where we were going, she said but I don't want to shower!
The lovely hostesses were Melanie's sister in law Susanne and her Mother. It was so pretty and had a monthly gift theme, I got December so I gifted her with a pretty Christmas door hanger. Take a look at all the lovely pics!
Your eyes are not fooling you, we are in matching dresses!! I got the girls and I matching Easter dresses from Lolly Wolly Doodle but figured they would be great for the shower too!
Jeannine's home was beautifully decorated for the shower, love the baby breath XOXO
All the food was delicious of course, brunch may be may favorite meal!! We had cheese grits, breakfast casserole, assorted breads, ham and cheese sandwiches and cake!
The bride to be and Taylor! Interesting family fact for you, Melanie's middle name is Elizabeth, Taylor's is Sara, my Grandmother's maiden name was Sara Elizabeth XOXO
We are so happy for Mel!! As you can see she is so beautiful but she is also REALLY smart, like for real. She is a nurse right now & loves Harry Potter & The Dawgs!
Taylor & Katherine waiting to open gifts!
How well do you know Melanie?! What a fun game!!
Helping Mel open all her lovely gifts!
My sweet love
A pretty day for pics on the deck, Susanne and Melanie
Gigi, Taylor and me!! Poor Gigi got stuck in the 285 parking lot on her way up to Lawrenceville since the bridge collapse, but she made it!! We had a great time celebrating Mel!
The shower was held back in my old hometown of Lawrenceville, its a great area and always fun being back. Since its rare I just have Taylor I decided to take her by my old high school, Brookwood!
Walking around my old high school with my daughter was a really cool experience. I spent a lot of Friday nights there and ran track there. Its great being back and showing my daughter part of my teenage years.
Go Broncos!!
Since she was so good, we stopped by Mickey D's for a Happy Meal and Sundae, yum!
Since Saturday was also April Fools Day I put together a little April Fools dinner!!
You may think these are french fries and ketchup but its a trick!
Its pound cake and raspberry dip!!
2 scoops of french vanilla ice cream??
Tricked you!!
Its mashed potatoes with a pork chop and gravy!
April Fools Day is all about fun and being tricky, we had a great day!!

  1. That’s just so adorable. I am also planning to host a wedding shower for my sister and her fiancĂ©. The couple is going to tie the knot in next month at some local wedding venues Chicago and will have a Disney inspired ceremony. So I need some suitable suggestions for their wedding shower as well. Can anyone here help?

    1. Thank you! It was a fun shower and beautiful wedding!! For the Disney theme shower you are hosting, is there a certain character the Bride really likes? For example if it was Beauty and the Beast you could have a sign in sheet that said Be Our Guest or a single red rose as the centerpiece on tables. Hope this helps!
