Simple Joys

Happy Hump Day friends!!
We are at the end of January, looking back, I hope you smile!
For us it was a month filled with basketball games with our family, cold weather, snow days, winter snowman décor, some weekends of just hanging out and cheering our Dawgs in a NC, not too shabby, right?!
I just put everything in the crock pot on high for 4 hours and it was delish!!

Here are some pics that make me smile recently:

Sunny days on scooters are the best!
And of course little sister has to join in the fun!
Warm sunny days are perfect for having lunch on the patio.
And getting some exercise! I nice walk around the neighborhood!
Anything PJ Masks is Taylor's simple joy!
This White Chicken Chili is SO good and very easy, I made it in the crock pot! It came from Dixie Delights Blog and I pasted it below, she always has yummy recipes to try!! I just put everything in the crock pot on high for 4 hours and it was delish!!

White Chicken Chili1 large sweet onion, diced
2 garlic cloves, minced

What I Wore

Happy Tuesday friends!!
It's a cold and windy day here in GA, very winter like, BRR!!!
I usually show my work outfits but I also have a few from my weekend wear I wanted to share, I am all about being comfy!

This super soft sweat shirt came from Shein.com, I paired it with my black yoga pants to kicks from Target!
Getting dressed is always more fun when you match your sweet girl!
These dressed came from Popsugar.com, they have a lot of cute matching Mommy/Daughter dresses!
Sometimes winter days need a little color added to them, enter a hot pink Lilly P print skirt! This was made from Sarta Designs and I paired it with a navy top and hot pink necklace!
This soft lavender sweater dress came from Target about 2 years ago, perfect for a cold day with some boots and tights.
Maxi dresses are perfect all year I think! I paired this green one from Shein.com with an old denim jacket and my Outlander necklace!
Pink and green is one of my favorite color combinations! This top came from Shein.com last year.
A have a small little collection of Disney inspired outfits I love. This Snow White sweater came from the Lauren Conrad Collection at Kohl's!
Looking at this picture, it makes me want a black and white cookie to eat!
Everything is kind of older, the white skirt came from Amazon and is great to combine with all different tops, winter white!

Winter Wonderland Tablescape

Happy Monday everyone!
How was your weekend? I hope it was great! Ours was very nice, it rained pretty much all day Saturday and Sunday, but there is something relaxing and recharging about being inside and not going anywhere, don't you think?
Love this little Monday motivation about :-)
The last part of my January winter décor I wanted to share today is my snowman tablescape!
Note, my table is never this clean, if I turned the camera about 3 feet to the left you would find all kinds of toys and Hubby's work items!! Just keeping in real!
These snowmen placemats and table runner came from Lakeside Collection, as well as the blue plaid table cloth, love them!
A little different view if the table. You have heard me mention this before, but this dining room table, chairs and chest belonged to my Grandmother Kee. We pretty much use it everyday as our kitchen table, love it!
I love these winter white candles at night, the vase came from Home Goods a few years ago and the skinny candles came from Walmart, for like $1! I like to stick limbs from our Christmas tree in the vase for a rustic look.
Soft lights make home a little more cozy!
I also just added these snowflake candles from Lakeside Collection in these cute Mason Jars!
We still have some months to go before winter is over, but I really do love the warm feeling winter décor brings! I will be starting on my Valentine décor this week but still using a lot of my winter décor to keep things cozy!

My Hygge Home

Happy Friday everyone! I have been really excited about this post, taking pictures around the house of items that make me feel comfort. Lately around Instagram I have been seeing some of my favorite accounts talking about Hygge, its a concept on coziness and comfort. What really drew me to it, it doesn't cost a dime! It just things already in your house that bring a feeling of comfort to you and your family.
The other night I went around taking pictures in my house of things that bring me comfort, I would also love to hear what brings you happiness and comfort in your home!
Candles!!
I love candles, I think this love comes directly from my Mom, she loves candles too!
They come in all different scents, colors and prices but all gave off the same soft glow.
I like coming home after work and lighting candles and having some going when guests come over. This particular candle is new, my sweet friend Katie gave me a Kohl's gift card and I thought having a nice candle would make doing dished better. This one is a wood wick and sounds like a fire burning!!
I also try to match my candles with my seasonal décor. For example around Xmas it was lots of green and red candles burning and for January/winter, I like the winter white look.
Twinkle lights!
No matter what time of the year, twinkle lights are always a great addition. Maybe a summer patio at night, around a Christmas tree or warm white looks great around a mirror. I hung these up in our bedroom with some white ribbon on each side. They also make a great night light!
Books & Devotionals!
This is a wonderful daily devotional I got from my cousin Melissa, I have had it for almost 2 years and enjoy it almost every day. Simple, short and heart felt.
Melissa is a wonderful nurse, she gifted me with this book and a few other things 2 years ago while Hubby was in the hospital, she has a heart of gold!
Pictures and pintables!
Little pintables around the house as small reminders :-)
Blankets!
I think everyone loves having a soft blanket to cuddle up with, I try to keep lots of them in baskets and on our couches. Especially if you some people in your family are easily hot it helps to keep the cold natured people happy to!
More candles around the house, these butternut scented snowflake candles came from Lakeside Collection, so cute in a little Mason jar!
Rugs!
Hardwood floors have a lot of perks, I love using rugs to soften them up some especially in spots where you do a lot of standing. This new rug came from Walmart, I thought the dark reds would go great in our kitchen!
I hope you enjoyed this little hygge post!
I think its important to have things in your home no matter how little or cheap that bring you comfort after a busy day!
Enjoy the weekend!!

Boss Baby Movie Night

This movie night was all Taylor's idea, she loves the movie Boss Baby!!
All the kids at daycare love Boss Baby and that is where she first saw it so I knew she would be excited to have it at home!
Boss Baby Theodore says "Cookies are for Closers", so of course we had some rainbow chip cookies and milk!
Let's be real, we all know these 2 are the boss of our house!!
Hugs from my sweet girl!!
She defiantly has a bossy side!!
I can't think of a better picture to describe Nicole at the top and Taylor at the bottom!
NAILED IT!!
Boss Baby is super cute and a sweet message for siblings but there was defiantly one part that had Hubby and me blushing, regarding a pacifier...YO!!!

Date Night & Some More Winter Decor

It doesn't happen much, but every once in a while Hubby and I get a date night! As most couples with kids know, we should all try to do this a little more often, but lets be honest, its not cheap! But worth it! Our daycare offers parents night out once a month, we usually pass cause we feel like it makes for a really long day for the girls, but this month we went for it and had a great time, as did the girls! They got to do a craft, pizza and a movie while we dined just down the street at Village Italian!
Before it became Village Italian, this use to be a pizza restaurant, it went under new ownership then they had a flood last year and it recently opened again!
Its a really cute location with pretty lights outside!
We had a lovely Italian dinner with lots of bread, pasta and dessert!
We put our phones down and just enjoyed some time together and being able to eat an entire meal without having to get up...SCORE!!
I wanted to share my little candy bar still filled with some starlight mints and Swiss Cake Rolls (Hubby's favorite!). Taylor created this super cute snowman plate that goes perfect with my snowman Coton Colors attachment!
I also added some snowflake garland to our stairs, its simple and sparkly!!
More snowmen and a light blue table runner for a winter feel on the table. All the snowmen décor on here came from Lakeside Collection, check them out!!

On a different note I wanted to share with you my Hubby's new website, he is awesome at math and if offering tutoring services if you know someone who could use help :-)
The website is:
makingsensetutoring.weebly.com
Thanks for your support!!

Winter Drink Station

Happy Monday Friends!
I think its back to normal for most people in GA, no holiday or freezing weather, just a normal work day, but sometimes, normal is the best, right?!
I wanted to share my winter wonderland drink station with you today, so cozy up with a warm drink!
I like to use blue items along with white and snowmen of course!
The center snowflake came from Party City and the snowflake garland came from Etsy.
Nothing is new this year at my drink statin, I printed off a picture of Taylor from our December snow day, the paper snowflake table runner came from Oriental Trading a few years ago and I pull out my white mugs and my one snow man mug :-)
I had some blue and white straws ( I have a little stash now) and filled an old metal snowman can with some hot cocoa k cups. The sign came from Walmart and I got the printable  from Etsy.
I also hung up this cute door banner from Lakeside Collection, I think its my favorite door decoration I have!

For some winter wonderland décor outside, I added some snowflake  lights that came from Target over our entry door, so pretty at night!
A little different view, I tied some white ribbon around my little lights and added my Frozen
quote right by the door. The silver snowflake came from Etsy.
I love adding some winter cheer around the house!

Winter Snow Mantel & Snow Days

Winter Weather Greetings Everyone!!
I am sorry I have been away for a few days, some freezing temps came thru GA and we had 2 snow days at work. It was great working from home, but with the girls and Hubby all there, I didn't have any extra time to blog but I am back in the office today to share my winter mantel, thanks for being here!
One if the best things about winter décor is you can still use a lot of your Christmas décor in it, like the snowmen and frosted trees!
Hubby got me this Trader Joes candle for Christmas, I got this warm winter wishes sign from Lakeside Collection. I call it a mantle skirt, but I got it off Etsy a few years and still love it!
I used the girls Olaf doll with my PersonalizationMall.com snowflake sign.

This cute wooden snowman came from Lakeside Collection, they continue to have the best winter décor!!
This cute Frosty wreath came from Lakeside Collection a few years ago!
With this weather, having a good blanket is a must!!
Here is a picture of our house after the snow fell, so pretty, love that bright blue sky!
And here is the back of the house!! Doesn't the play house look so cute surrounded by snow!
Not having to drive into the office meant I could cook the girls some pancakes, yummy!
More time to play around the house too!
And Daddy made a fun scavenger hunt for Taylor, she ended up finding a treasure of gold chocolate coins!!
