Spring updates

With Easter over and the next holiday being Mother's Day, I don't really have that many holiday decorations before July 4th comes around. As I put away my Easter stuff I replaced it with some spring decorations I had in storage. The only new thing I got were some pretty flowers. Here is what I put out around the house:
I picked up these pretty artificial blue hydrangea's at Walmart and trimmed them down to fit into this vase. I had an Easter basket sitting here before. And I found this cute little rooster from Lakeside Collection I had ordered last year.
On our pantry door I had an Easter Bunny, so I replaced him with this cute green rooster I ordered from Etsy, I love the polka dots and our names on it!
Our garage looks like a toy bomb exploded. It's filled with bike's, scooter's, tools, saws, a lawn mower and math books. We can only fit one car inside and its tight. I envy bloggers with organized garages and nice shelves, maybe one day! In the meantime I ordered this cute iron welcome sign from Lakeside Collection and I've had the Hey y'all decal from Etsy for a while (hello Paula Deen!!). We use our garage door the most so I want to try to make is look a little nice. I had an Easter wreath hanging up and replaced it with my Xmas P monogram! I just took off the red ribbon...SCORE!
I've had Mr. Welcome Crab for years!! I found him at Home Goods and have loved him since. I think he is perfect for warm weather and he had held up very good. Who is ready for some crab legs and butter?? YUM!!
I changed my He Is Risen Cross for a simple flower door hanger, this is an Etsy buy too. I got 2 hanging flower baskets and plastic black plant holders at Walmart for $25.00, not too bad. I think they add a colorful touch!
And with all the beautiful weather I took the girls to our neighborhood swing set. I was taking this pic of Nicole when I heard Taylor yell, look Mommy, I am going to jump off!! Eekk!!

60 in Style

We had a wonderful weekend celebrating my favorite Dad's 60th Birthday Party! From the invite, to the decor, and the food my Mom outdid herself, it was fabulous!! Here is a party recap:
My Mom scored these invites from Etsy and they were adorable, they look like real tickets!
I had ordered the girls some Bulldog Dresses back in March, Taylor has a black dress with a cute Bulldog cheerleader. A fantastic dress maker named Catherine with The Monkey and The Weasel made them for me. She is also very affordable!
Here is Nicole in her red outfit, check out that toofie coming in!
Mom and I printed off all the pictures we could find of my dad through the years and she put together these cute posters!! His hair was much darker back then. And don't you just love the twinkle lights in the fireplace, I am thinking I want to do this at my house!
My Mom with Nicole and my cousins Abby & Caroline, aren't they beautiful twins?!
Love these number balloons and so did the kids!
This was one of THE BEST cakes I've had!! There was pudding in the cake which made it really moist and the icing was divine! My Mom and me could have eaten the entire thing I think!
The Varsity food truck rolled up serving hot dogs, hamburgers, fries, onion rings & chili, it was a HIT!! Everyone loved it, made fresh and hot, the best hot dogs in GA in my opinion!!
Big and little kids love The Varsity!! Uncle G enjoying a cold one while Taylor is working on that dog!
What'll ya have!!!???
My niece and nephew with Taylor
Celebrate good times!
My sweet Uncle and Aunts having fun!
All the kids and me were ready for cake!
My parents with their lifelong friends The Phillips :-)
Sweet cousins
Nicole is not old enough to enjoy The Varsity, but hold enough for the hat!
If you have not noticed, we have not shortage of girls in this family :-)
My Dad is such an awesome guys, he has been there for me forever. I loved getting to celebrate him!

Great & Cheap Finds

Another busy work week is coming to the end, yeah for the weekend!! We all work so hard for the money, everyone wants to feel like they get their money's worth when purchasing something. Here are a few little things I got for little money that I love!
I got this red plate charger at Walmart for the holiday's, it was around $3 bucks and I got a set of 4. I also love looking online to see people's kitchen counter displays. I envy those who have beautiful ones. Right now in my life the counter is filled with bottles and drying racks! But I often see plates displayed and I love it. I had this frame holder from Michael's and I went onto Etsy and ordered a monogram letter P stick on. It came out to be around $10 with shipping. I stuck it onto this charger and love it!
Cheap and easy, my kind of project!
I snagged these cute flats at Walmart and really like them. I hope to pick up more color's on my next visit, but can you see the price tag?? $5.87....SCORE!!!
A few weeks ago I had the girls pictures taken with a real bunny. I love all the pictures and found this basic set of white frames at Walmart, a little more then I was hoping to spend, $20, but they came out really great. Please excuse the chocolate stains a little bunny left on the table runner :-)
I have always been a big fan of Quik Trip, they are clean and cheap! I scored this big drink for $1.00, what is even better is I like mixing my fountain drink up, this is Diet Coke with some cherry flavoring...YUM!!

Sweet Moments

As any parent knows, some days can really test what you are made of. My girls are very young so I have not experienced the teenage years, but the kiddie years is hard work. From the sleepless nights to someone always needing you to do something, it can wear on you. Add a job on top of that and a nightmare commute and the day can really get you. My 3 year old as no filter, she is like a senior citizen! She will just say what ever she thinks, she never lies but sometimes the truth can knock you down when it comes to how Mommy looks or how Mommy is like the big bad wolf...ouch!! I never thought my self confidence could fall apart thanks to a little girl, but I am trying to teach her what is nice and not nice to say about people. But as in life, with the bad comes the good. There are those moments when you see your kid share or give you a big hug or say how pretty your yellow hair is :-) I realize why we do all this, all for love. Here are just a few moments I was able to capture that make me smile!
Look at my baby girl sitting up by herself, eek!! She is so cute and sweet, of coarse I had to do a side by side comparison with her big sister, both pics taken at 6 months old on our bed.
I love having 2 girls for many reasons and one of them is sharing cloths! Who is ready for another side by side?!
I enjoy getting to use the same cute outfits again!
While trying to go through some emails while I was out I looked up and saw Taylor sitting at the table feeding her Cabbage Patch doll a bottle of water like we feed Nicole. Just another reminder she is sponge and watches/hears everything we do. She is so sweet sometimes XOXO
Nicole got a stomach bug and ear infection, poor baby. We spent 4 hours at the doctor which was a lot, but I am also grateful for Children's Healthcare of Atlanta, cause babies just don't get sick M-F 9-5. Having a doctor open after hours is a blessing. She is on some stomach medicine and pink stuff, not quite herself  yet but better. She feel asleep on me and I loved it. any cuddle time with my girls I take!!

Simple joy's & what I wore

I am usually not a person who join's club, but I wanted to tell you about the best one I ever joined, Dollar Shave Club! If you have leg hair and shave, you will love this. Razor's are SO expensive and a huge rip off, I felt like I could get a good week's use out of one and it would become dull. But who can afford almost $10 for a small set week after week. DSC has changed all that! I pay $4/month and they ship me a month's worth of razors, a fresh one every week. I got it for my father in law and he loves it too!
Since I don't have much free time and my job requires a lot of tying, painting my finger nails can become a lot. They chip just a day or two after I paint them and it never fails, while I am drying my nails someone needs to be picked up! But since we were going on spring break, I lighten up on the make up and thought I should do my nails. I had a few moments to use my new Lilly polish and enjoy a mint sweet tea...heaven.
My hubby picked this yummy, buttery, big biscuit up for breakfast for me from our local gas station...SCORE!
While getting ready for work I had Pandora on shuffle and our wedding song came on. We danced to Tim McGraw's My Best Friend, my husband is not a big county music fan but I couldn't think of a better song to express how I felt. I love the song and still do XOXO
Taking a vacation is something every hard worker needs to do, but sometimes it will cost you. To the tune of hundreds of emails waiting to be read, this Jamaican Me Happy helped.
After 2 Novocain shots, a crown, 2 fillings and $800 bill, I was over my 2 hour dentist visit. Since my mouth was still numb when I got home for dinner all I could find was this breakfast drink I get my hubby. I was really wanting a Chick Fil A milkshake but it was pretty good I must say!
I am a little shy of colored jeans, but I tried stepping out of my comfort zone with this lime green jeans from Walmart. I paired them with this black & white top and denim jacket, an outfit idea I saw on Pinterest.
We had some spring like weather this week so I pulled out my favorite white capri's with a Lilly shirt and monogram necklace. Lilly + Monogram=LOVE
I got these stripped pants from the website RoseGal.com, I really like them but can't figure out if they are navy or black! So I went with black this week :-)
I don't shop at JCPenny very much but I ordered this cute yellow lace sleeveless dress and got so many compliments. I paired it with a teal cardiagin and necklace from Kohl's
I absolutely love this print I saw on Walmart.com, but it was sold out in my size. So when I saw it shopping I snagged it up! I love all the colors but it its very form fitting, especially around my still look like I'm preggers belly. But I love it and wore it anyway, hello control top undies!
Just a reminder when us Mom's look in the mirror...

"A tradition unlike any other"

Born and raised in the great state of GA and having a golf loving Dad & Brother, The Master's has been a part of my life forever. I am not a huge golf fan, but there is no denying Augusta National is the most beautiful coarse in the world. It signifies spring time in GA and some of my favorite foods! I've never been but the cost of food there blows all other sports arenas away, can you imagine getting anything at a Braves game or GA game for $2.00? No way, but in Augusta you can get a lot. Their signature egg salad sandwich, BBQ sandwich and my favorite, pimento cheese. I did my best to recreate their famous recipe and it came out great! And it was a lot of spread for leftovers. Here is the recipe I followed:
How to Make a Masters-Style Pimento Cheese Sandwich
You'll need:
3 cups shredded white cheddar cheese
2 cups shredded yellow sharp cheddar cheese
4 oz crumbled blue cheese
1 cup shredded Parmesan cheese
1 (4-oz) jar sliced pimentos, drained
1 cup light mayo
2 tbs Dijon mustard
1 loaf of white bread

Combine cheeses, pimentos, mayo and mustard in a food processor and process until smooth. Cover and chill. Spread on bread slices. Makes four sandwiches.
I toasted put my favorite Sunbeam white bread (it's the kind my Grandmother use to buy, when she lived in Atlanta I would ride with her to the bakery and get fresh loaves, yum!). I served it with some tater chips and Arizona's Arnold Palmer (sweet tea & lemonade, sounds like an chocoholic drink, right?). It was a tasty and festive dish while we watched the game. If I could only get my yard to look like this...
